First, once my offer was accepted, Piegut Immobilier’s negotiator arranged a meeting between the vendors and myself so that the results of the diagnostic analyses on the house, required by French law, could be revealed. (These written reports, arranged and paid for by the vendors of a property, state whether a house is affected by termites or asbestos, the condition of its electric and/or gas supply, its thermal efficiency and so on.) At this meeting, the vendors and I signed the official contract for my purchase of the house (le compromis de vente). There was now definitely no going back.
